If you get 2 above-ground spawns you get on average 2 Iron of 6 nodes, and your odds are far better in Crater...if anything it should spawn 100% of the time, just to be fair. Good is TOO common afterwards, so much so that you'll probably only have to reset 3 times max to get to Ruby.
