The condensation runoff is collected in the drainage pipe and sent to the exterior of your home. Condensation runoff will back up and end up on your floor if the drainage pipe becomes clogged. You definitely shouldn't have to shake it to get the water out. It also shouldn't get sucked back up the drain hose. You might need to fiddle with it a little bit, though.
